I was wondering if i have enough light for the height of a 90H tank? I have dual 175w 10000K and 2 40w actinics. Is that enough light for the depth of the 90H or should i just stick with the 75 AGA. thanks

I would stay with the 75gal. If you are planning on keeping Soft corals then you will be OK with the 90. What corals do you plan to keep?

I plan on keeping sof corals, anemones and clams. still ok with 90 or just stick with 75?

edit: i guess i could always just put the light lovers a little higher up in the tank.

I have softies and anenome, but no clams in a 90 with 440w of VHO. I really love the extra depth of the 90 though and wouldn't trade it for the world.

A fried of mine keeps a very successful Acropora Reef in a 120 w/ 175 wattt 10K metal halides. Couple VHO's and some PC's I think for actinics...

So are you guys saying that my 80watts of actinics may be a problem for the 4 extra inches or should i still be fione?

I kept a squamosa clam, sps's and softies in a 90 gallon tank with 2 175 watt halides and 2 110watt vho's and everything did quite well. I did what you are suggesting, keep high light things higher up in the tank. I would say go for the 90, because you can alway add more light but you cant just add more tank volume. Good Luck!
