I am building a hood for a 48" tank, and have gotten the parabolic reflectors from hellolights.com. They do not give any information regarding height above the tank. Could someone who has the SpiderLight tell me how high they recommend the reflector be set for a 24" coverage? Is the number you're giving measured from the bottom edge of the reflector or from the bottom or center of the bulb? Spiderlight gives this information in their literature.

Thanks

i have a pair of spiders but cannot remember the height they said, i believe 12" . i keep my 250MH 10" above the water line and my 96W PC Actinics about 6" above. I do use 2 4" fans, both directed inward.

spider said to mount the reflectors and lights Perpendicular to the front of the tank like i have mine. i measured from the bottom-center of the bulb or my coverage.

I really like the way these spiders reflect light into my aquarium.

here is a pic, i might have more if you want, just let me know and hope this helps a little bit

Thanks for your input, but I'm looking for the specific width of coverage that these reflectors produce at various heights above the water. It expands as the lamps are moved farther from the water. I believe they say for a 24" coverage the height is supposed to be 2". I'm just not sure this is right, though. If it is, I assume that is measured from the bottom edge of the reflector. I think for 36" coverage the height is supposed to be 8". Again, I think this measuring from the bottom edge of the reflector. SpiderLight owners who have the information that was sent with the reflectors... HELP!

Thanks.
