If i partition my sum (1f by 2ft) in order to have refugium, The refugium will be 10 inches by 12 inches. Is it enough for 100 G? What do you think?

Please be advised, thanks

By the way, i would like ot ask one more question. How many gallons of water in the sump would be ideal in conjunction with the tank?

I made every square inch under my tank into a refugium/sump. I think the bigger the better. 10 X 12 definitely won't hurt, but you could always go bigger. Isn't it like 48X20 under a 100 gallon? I would throw the largest rubbermaid container you can find that will fit next to your sump down there and plumb it to your system.

thinhvu-
how tall is your sump?and have you tested it to see if it will handle the xtra water that will enter if your pumps shut off?(sounds like you have a twenty gallon tank, or thereabouts, as your sump-if it's already half full when your setup is running, it'll only be able to accomodate another 10, if you get a power failure.-(the tank may drain 1/4-1/2",at minimum)

a 30 gal. tank should easily fit under a 100 gal.,with room to spare for a skimmer, etc.especially if the skimmer sits in the sump.

If you really want to make a bigger refugium, you could try something I used for a little while. It was a rubbermaid between the main tank and the back wall that rested on the edge of the stand that stuck out. With a 100 gal you might have to elevate it (my tank's only 12" high) by using elbow braces drilled into the wall. I had the return pump teed off to the rubbermaid and then a bulkhead gravity fed it back into the tank. It didn't take up any space at all in my stand. The only reason I got rid of it was to put it underneath and give it its own dedicated light on a night cycle. Or you could just buy a commercial hang on the back model.
