For our members wishing to post pictures for our community to see, I recommend http://www.pbase.com.

To post images on Reefs.org's bulletin board, first upload your images to Photo.net. In the message body of your post, click the Img button, insert the Photo.net URL of the intended image, then click the Img button again. Clicking the Img button will insert the appropriate tags (
) to post pictures for you.

Reef Fever,

You need to click the Img button right after you're done typing the url.

Hmmm!

It appears they aren't allowing outside links now! It worked fine just yesterday. Ugh

I have it marked for public visibility. Is there anything else I have to do to share it?

I just uploaded them, perhaps they are not replicated to the right places just yet?

OK, I've found what I was looking for. Apparently, photo.net does not allow outside links except for special galleries and/or photographers. My apologies for the false hope. I'll keep my eye out for other sites that allow image hosting with outside links.

RF,

What site are you linking it to? It appears to be pbase, but pbase wouldn't allow me to do outside links. How'd you get yours to work?

Once you post it in PBase, right click on the picture and choose properties. This tells you the actual URL the PICTURE is on.

:)

Here is a try from Photo.net:

Hey, it works too!!!!!!!!! Big too!

That is the deal. Right click on your Photo and go to properties to get the true URL to the JPG that is linkable.

BTW, Photo.net allows you to show it in MUCH bigger resolution. Both of the above photos were taken at 4 MegaPixel. PBase sized it down without me asking it to.

Ah! 8O I knew it worked. That's how I was linking the images I tried too, so it seemed strange I couldn't get yours to work. Didn't realize that the url's you guys used originally were invalid for outside linking.

So here it is: To post pics from either pbase.com or photo.net, right click the image to get the image properties. Cut and paste the listed URL, and you've got yourself an usable image in our BB.

I'll post another Sticky on top with the proper instructions later today. We now have not one, but two sites members can use to host their images. :)

Great pictures Dan, you sure do have alot of
feather dusters! I also noticed you took the
pictures of the small part of the tank that does
not have hair algae. :(
