1. What is the size of your aquarium in US gallons? ( length (inches) x width (inches) x height (inches) ) / 231 = Gallons
(78"x32"x37.5")/231 = 405g This is, however, outside dimensions. Actual interior volumn is more like 360g

2. How many pieces of coral does it contain?
~30 pieces

3. How many of the corals are Small Polyp Stonies ? (Acropora, Montipora, etc)
All but 2 of the 30 are sps, mostly frags.

4. How many are soft corals are in it?
none (other than the polyps here and there on the rock)

5. How many are Large Polyp Stonies? (brain, torch, hammer, elegance, etc.)
2 - both heliofungia

6. How many are maricultured corals? (corals propagated on island coral farms or in aquariums)
All (w/ the possible exception of one recently acquired tublinaria) of the sps were frags obtained from mother colonies in other's aquariums. Half of these were bought form LFS's, the other half were generously donated by a fellow reefkeeper (and who has my undying graditude for his generousity).
I suspect the 2 heliofingias were wild caught.

7. What is the age of your reef tank (from set-up to present)
Set up in July of this year. The live rock and ive sand came from previous reef tanks as old as 4-5 years.

8. Have you had other reef aquariums that are no longer functioning?
Yes

9. What was the length of their life from start up to end?
a) 15g with a few soft corals that I had for about a year;
b) 40g soft and lps reef tank that I had for about a year;
c) 37g sps reef tank that I had for about 1.5 years;
d) 65g soft and lps reef tank that I had for about a year;
e) 200g soft, lps and sps reef tank that I had for 2 years

10. What was the reason for taking the tank down?
Each time I moved, I typically moved all the livestock from my existing reef tank into a new, larger tank.

a) was my first "reef" tank, which was transfered to b) when I moved, and was then transfered to d) 6 months later;
c) was set up and maintained at simultaneously with d), and was my first attempt at sps corals;
c) and d) were combined and transfered to e) when I moved again;
e) was going to be transfered to the current reef tank when I recently moved (yes, my third move in last 5 years), but was hit with a complete die-off during the transfer.

11. How many people see your aquarium every year?
The current tank? not too many.

12. Do you ever talk to them about the coral reefs?
Yes

13. How many ask you about starting a reef aquarium?
Some

14. Do you visit public aquariums?
Occaisionally

15. Would you be more willing to buy a coral if it was from a island coral farm and its purchase would help in coral reef restoration projects?
Yes

16. Would you be willing to purchace a Coral Farm certificate with the coral if it:
a) gave information on the coral, where the coral was from, along with info about the village coral reef restoration project?
Yes - this would be interesting information to have.

b) would you be willing to pay $1.50 for this certificate if it was also to put 4 coral frags onto damaged reefs?
Absolutely

Putting coral frags from an aquarium onto a damaged reef is a risky proposition and probably would do more harm than good. If the frags were removed, grown out and replaced all locally that would be a different matter.
