Does anyone use any of the software offered in catalogs??

Which one?
How much $$$?
likes dislikes?

overall recommendation on which one I should look at. I was hoping to find one that could graphically trend levels (initial cylce) or graphically show normal/recommended levels vs what my param's are.

The current ones out are tied to the neptune/octopus controllers. Those only read ph, orp, o2, and temp. It sounds like you want to measure other stuff. Check out Hanna Instruments they have loads of other probes and I believe some software. It's built for the scientific community but that's not always bad.

orp seems to be a very hot measurement among European reef keepers.

But, I'm not too familiar with it's applicability in reef tanks. What exactly is it measuring and why is it useful?

I have a marine aquarium keepers CD-Rom that has software on it. I'm not sure if they even still make it.

I am not really interested in a controller. I am looking more at the software that will allow me to enter my data from testing and keep a log of what is going on with my tank..
Thanks for the inpiut about the controllers tho.. still a ways off before I think about one of those.

I use software called Tankminder. Very good and easy to use. Check out their website at Tankminder.com as I recall
