I will be upgrading to a 120(48x24x24) in a few months. I have been eyeballing the jetstream. The average price here is $800 for tank and pine stand. I could probably get the guy to throw in a 30 gallon tank for a sump on the arm. I was looking at the AGA 120 pre drilled and the price was about the same. However, my LFS says that many of AGA's reef ready's have been leaking and he is now turning people to the jetstream. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the jetstream and I would appreciate any comments on the system.

Don't have any personal experience with them, but it sounds like the LFS guy is making stuff up about the AGA in order to get you to switch. I do know the profit margins are a bit higher on the jetstreams.

Go to the Marineland website I think it is http://marineland.com/products/consumer ... tream.html

It looks like Perfecto and Marineland have merged(or already have been) and they are now making reef ready tanks. I've only seen one running, so I was wondering if anyone has one up and running and would like to know if they like it.

I am not bashing AGA. Almost all of my tanks are or have been AGA. But, Perfecto tends to make a good aquarium as well. The drawback I see to AGA is that there overflow draws water from the bottom and this may compromise the depth of my DSB. Also, the jetstream was, as they claim, very quiet. The drawback to the jet stream is that a dual overflow may only be able to draw 1200 GPH.

Are the Jetstreams all set up with one overflow and one return? If you could get it with 2 overflows and just return over the back it would be a lot better. If the overflows work quietly it might be a good system. But what if you had to service the bulkhead for some reason?

On a 120 there are two. I agree that servicing may be a problem. Does anyone know where to get an oceanic for a good price?

Country Critters carries both brands, I think. You try them?

I haven't called them yet. If the price for an oceanic is only 100-200 more I should spring for it. Thanks for the insight Dan.

i have the jetstream 150
it has 2 overflows and two returns.
at first i hated it now i love it.
it is definately the quietest tank i have ever had and this is a good thing for me as i keep it in a tv room and for years with aga or others we had to blast the volume.
my wife loves the new jetstream.
if and when you order it as soon as you get it call marineland and tell them you want two sets of air vent tubes.
they will send free.
the reason is it takes time and patiience to get the flow set up and the quietness they are known for.
if you want more info let me know mars.
if you see bad replies its because people dont have the patience to set it up correctly.
its a good sys and marine land is excellent customer service.
