I'm torn trying to decide how to light my 75g SPS tank.

I have 3 PFO spider reflector knockoffs

2 Magnetec cap/coil 400w ballasts

1 hamilton 400w cap/coil, guessing it's an advance ballast

My favorite setup I've owned, was 2 400w iwasaki, and 3 vho actnic, I ran this on a 100g I had a few years ago.

My goal is similar light, without using actinics, they are a pain fitting into the canopy, PC actinics are not an option, I hate them.

I was thinking of running 2 400w Radiums in the standard spots, bulbs pointing forward, suplimented with 1 400w iwasaki dead center of tank, bulb mounted slightly lower, with a simple dimple reflector, so the color is diffused across the tank better, I would skip the 400w iwasaki if I could, are the 12kk bulbs out really a cross in color between 10kk and radiums?

I wasnt totally sure the radiums would work on a cap/coil, or which side of the spectrum they would lean towards.

My fallback setup is 2x400w iwasaki's and 3-4 URI vho actinics, I get excellent growth with the iwasaki's, but they really need the actinics to look the way I want them, it's a pita fitting all those bulbs in a 48x18" canopy though

nope, which is why I said 2x400w iwasaki + 3vho URI actinics

the other option is 2x400w 20kk + 1 400w iwasaki

I'm still undecided
