The short answer is no. Don't use that tank.

The longer answer is maybe. There are a number of media out there that claim to remove copper traces. If you really want to try it, give those things a good run, well beyond when you test 0 for copper, then wait a while, then use those again for a while. Keep up water changes during this process. The worry is that your tank/rock/substrate may have absorbed some copper than will leach back into the water, so keep chaning water and using some media to absorb any copper.

After a month or two of that routine, assuming you test for 0 copper for some time, I don't think you could be blamed for adding a single hardy coral to see what happens.

There are no guarantees here, but hopefully someone with specific experience can provide more info.

RefLion is right on the money. On the subject of money, how much do you have invested in this 125 gallon tank? It may be cheaper and easier (on you and any tank inhabitants) to start with a fresh, noncopper treated tank, then to do water change after water change, copper test after copper test.

Just my $.02.

Use polyfilters for a month. They will turn green as they abosorb copper. Once they no longer turn green, your tank SHOULD be safe.

Frankly, the only part of the tank absorbing copper is the sealant. I cannot image that leaching too much copper into your tank after a month treatment with polyfilters.

My tank (55 gal) was running with copper for years. I used polyfilters to rid the tank of copper in between doses. It is now a extremely vital reef tank now.

Use your 125 and polyfilters for a month, then add reef life.
