getting rid of flat worms

Get a see-thru cup and fill it with tank water, then with a turket baster fill it with the Flatworms and into the cup, then take whatever treatment you have and see how many drops it takes to kill the entire population. I tried this experiment with Oomed, and the amount of drops it took to kill ALL flatworms was a very concentrated( and probably too lethal to livestock ) dose. And there was a lot of slime emmited from the flatworms. After doing this experiment, I decided it would NOT be a good idea to carry this treatment out on my main tank....I wouldnt sacrifice my corals and fish to kill flatworms, and besides if a couple of flatworms do survive the treatment, then they will reproduce again...

I've seen various halichoeres sp. wrasses eat flatworms. They also eat all your bugs, and can be hard on shrimp/crabs/snails (this varies to a great deal on the individual). I've used the greenex treatment many times without a single fish/coral loss, but I do know people with extremely severe cases that have had fish loss on the greenex method, and I attribute this to just to darn many dead toxic flatworms. It's certainly a problem without a perfect solution.

FWIW, I have also seen canary blennies eat them. Whether or not they do this depends on the bug population in the tank as they are big bug predators and generally won't eat flatworms till you are out of 'pods and mysis.

i have been batteling flat worms for a year now. i had them in plague proportion so i was told a dragonette would eat them so i bought one and to no avail he dident tuoch them so i did a ton of research and came up with a nudibranch called a chelidonura or head shield nidibranch it took me 6 mo.'s to get one in at my lfs (i was not about to mail order it) but once in the tank it has been cleaning house i think the one is just enough to keep them in check and keep it alive. i still can see them but their numbers have been dramaticly reduced i had well over 1k easily i tried to count them once but gave up saddened when i hit 600. now i can only see about 50 or so.
