I dont have a camera, so I hope my description works.

I have a piece of rock that has a patch of 50 or 60 green things growing out of it. They kind of resemble the end of a Q-tip, but they are a bright flourescent green (Chartruese if you are a fisherman!) The base of these are white. They are about 1" long. I have never seen anything like them. These started to appear as I was getting over my HA problem.

I know, not a very good description.

Any ideas???

Thanks

David

It's a type of algae. The white part is calcium that is the base for the colony. I usually see this stuff in younger tanks.

That sounds like Neomeris Annulata, a calcurus algae that will not get out of control and likes a good Ca level.
