Getting a new pump..

Well my Quiet One went out one and I sent it back for warranty. So I borrowed a MAK 4 from a friend and am using it for skimmer and return. I was using quiet one retrun and a Sen 900 for skimmer. Anyway I like the MAK 4 it's doing a great job. I've noticed a 2-3 degree drop in water temp too!! . The only problem is that is's a bit loud. I was wondering if anybody is usking the Iwaki 55RLT or the AmpMaster 2100. I know that the AmpMaster is quiet but does it add heat? What about the Iwaki? Thanks for your opinions...

Mag drive pumps like the little giant won't add any heat. that's a really good quiet choice. The blueline pump would be a less expensive option and still much more quiet than the iwaki. Anything above an iwaki md3 is too loud IMO. GRI 518 is another option and is supposed to be fairly quiet form what I've heard.

Iwakis are very hot and transfer a lot of heat to your tank. They are noisy and VERY EXPENSIVE for what they do.
LG is as reliable as an Iwaki and is very quiet, transfers no heat.
Quiet one is not reliable, not intended for SW tanks.
AM will leak and have problems restarting.
