And be the world's largest copperband butterfly, but you're right if you got a big enough one to start, he'd probably munch all that. Peppermint shrimp might work as well, but you'd need to find large ones.
I have a Klein's that attacked my aiptasia, however, he also attacked my mushroom's (so now I have a tank in a tank). Amazingly, he leaves the featherdusters alone.
I am unsure of the scientific or common name.. I looked it up once but have forgotten it..
It is a soft leather coral.. and it has grown quite quickly. I am very pleased with it's development. It does frag easily and the new frag will attach within 24 hours of it's cutting. The last time I fragged a piece for a friend the polyps had already started to extend before I got it in the bag!
This calls for multiple angles. The Copperband, 10 pepermint (they worked great for my, and they are cheap). If you have an elegance coral, you could move it around. One sting and thats the end of the aiptasia. Good luck.
I'm sorry, but this is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. Its so scarey its cool looking. Almost like stumbeling across a cadaver. 8O Its too freaky to take your eyes off of it. I noticed that if I stare at it long enough, you can see it spreading. And thats not to mention the awestrikening sight of aiptasia growing across the sandbed. Wow dude, you have a problem. 8) 8O
I know God is going to spite me for this and curse my tanks with an uncontrollable Aiptasia plague next. :|
