I have a 29 gallon FOWLR soon to be reef. My 12 year old 802 powerhead has seen its better days (it is completely submerged yet puts more microbubbles in my tank than a seaclone skimmer) (yes that was my attempt at humor!) anyways what is the best type/size skimmer to use for that size tank?
thanks in advance

people seem to like the PM hot 1. retail is around $160 i believe

i am using an excalibur HOT and find it sufficient for my 46g, but not a great deal.

If your Aquaclear is making lots of bubbles, you might want to check the intake. Supposedly if the input is clogged, the impeller will suck the air out of the water. I read that somewhere, and whenever I start to have that problem I notice that the intake is really clogged with algae or rocks.

Just an idea...

I would say the Remora skmmer would work great on your tank, a friend of mind had a 30 gallon with the Remora and a maxie-jet-1200 on it. Remora gets my vote, good luck.
