I currently have a 180 AGA with a 6" Naso that I love. He is doing well and still growing, although I know that they do grow slowly. I may be forced (circumstances beyond my control) to downgrade to a 90 AGA (48"W). I know it is not ideal for him, but is anyone out there doing something similar. My wife and I live him and do not want to get rid of him, but I also do not want to unfair him. Any advice would be great.

Honestly the decision is up to you. At his current size he should be fine for the 90g( I am sure others may disagree though)but he will eventually(and quickly) outgrow that tank.

Hang on to him in the mean time, but try to find a nice big home for him at a good LFS. If it's a real nice and healthy looking fish, i think most LFS's with an appropriately sized show tank would be happy to be bequeathed with a free tang. Then you still can go check him out and not have to worry about some shmuck buying it and throwing it in a fish bowl. Just a thought.

"The tang police, they live inside of my head...the tang police, they come to me in my bed...the tang police, they're coming to arrest me, oh nooo-oooooh!"

:D

Sorry, I just had to do it...

Peace,

Chip

Any time I move fish to a smaller tank....they do not do well.

Either immediately, or progressively. In fact, I have a new rule here, no-one downsizes unless it is it temporary.

My experience.

-I know it is not ideal for him

You already know the answer. Good luck with the decision.
