Water parameters are all zero except ammonia is a slight reading.

I bought a toadstool over a week ago, It has developed some yellow patches on the stalk and a couple of spots on the cap. It will fully expand except for the spots on the cap are not coming out. In addition, it will fully expand for about 5 hours then close up for a 2-3 hours, only to open again.

This is the first coral in this 125 w/ 120lbs of fl rock, 5" sand, and no other filtration other than a HOT magnum with NEW carbon and PH's for circulation. Tank has only two tomato clowns that have been in for a month.

any thought would be appreciated.

Yellow on Toadstools are a sign of low light.
I brought home a yellow toadstool once. After 1 week in the tank it was back to the normal color.

What type of lights do you have on the tank?

sorry, it's not a very good pic, but it was all yellow when I got it.

I run (4) 3' VHO bulbs on a 72bow AGA, and have 3 toadstools right now.
(anyone need a frag?)
anyway they seem to like to be placed where a soft current will flow over
them, about mid level, directly under the 4 bulbs.
