Nice tank

You should suspend the light up a bit higher to avoid the possibility of overheating the glass trim, which has the potential to bring your skyscraper down.

I too love the taller stands and totally agree about looking down at a tank. One question though, will that 1/6 HP chiller be adequate to cool that tank especially with the 2 400 watt Bulbs? What is your ambient room temp?

Cant wait to see pictures of it stocked. :D

I apologize...It is actually a 1/5 HP chiller! The air temp is cool as this part of the house gets very little light in the afternoon.

Very good point you raise! I have two ideas for suspending the light. The first is a cherrywood open frame which would raise the light 6 inches above the tank.

The other is a standard canopy which will suspend the pendant inside. But the only problem with this is that I paid all that money for the pendant only to hide it.

As for just setting the pendant on the glass, do you really think it will be a problem? I assume you are implying that it will heat the glass and if water hits it, it will crack? Keep in mind this glass is 3/8" thick.

Of all the glass tanks I ever seen (those cheapy IA tanks included) Lee Mar's are the best of the best by far. I'm dreaming up my next tank now, it will be a Lee Mar for sure.
