Anybody know what is a good sponge for a sump ? preferably non-photosynthetic. I am using a 150 DE for my sump currently and would not mind if sponge is photosyntheic. just like to know a good sponge.
I don't know of any species, but the sponges that come in on good pieces of LR really take off in my tank. They aren't photosynthetic, come to think of it they might be foramniferans I can't really tell. Why do you want a sponge in your sump??? Soak up some nasty chemical?? I've heard they soak up silicates..
