Apologies to dial-up users...
These pics are larger than usual and very large file size, but worth the wait.

This pic was taken with flash under Actinic lighting.

No flash, full tank lighting. Candy cane coral is doing well.

My Crocea clam. A nice close-up shot. This is my fav piece in my tank. The colours viewed from above is just amazing.

Green centered Button polyps. Picture taken without flash under Actinic lighting. This is the first time I have managed pictures like this under actinic only lighting. The camera is excellent.

My Xenia. This was just a small 2mm blob a few weeks ago after a mysterious crab ate almost all the Xenia. But the Xenia is pretty hardy and resilient and thus has grown back.

Hope you liked them.

Thanks. :)

I am using a Fujifilm 6900. Its a 3 Megapixel camera. Quite a good camera even though its about 2 years old. The range of manual controls is pretty good, thus allowing some nice pics to be taken.

Thanks for all the replies.

I will post some full tank pics when I take a few full tank shots.

clk2609: The camera you have bought is reviewed here:
http://www.steves-digicams.com/s100.html

I used to have a 2MP Canon Powershot A20, with similar specs and I got really good shots out of that. So definately you'll be able to take some really good shots. Practice is the key here. Learn the camera inside out. Know its limits.

I take most of my shots in autofocus--simply because its faster to focus, I sometime need to manually focus if the lighting isnt great.
With the white balance, on your camera, experiment with the various settings and see what gives the better results with your tanks lighting. Sometimes you'll need to use one or other white balance for say taking a pic at the top of the tank and another shot near the bottom of the tank.

Exposure time, again depends on your tanks lighting, however on your camera it should be auto set only, but not a problem--like I said I got great pics with my Canon (at first I got crappy pics).

Hope this helps, if you need any other help regarding camera use etc just email me at [email protected]

Great pics! So what kind of crab do you think ate your Xenia?? Ever catch a picture of him? Xenia grows like a weed for some people, and I'm sure they would all be interested in this...

Nice pics and a nice website to boot. Those are some really nice pics and I really liked how you created the surface tension on the cover photo.

Hi, thanks for all the replies. Glad the pics were liked.

As regards to the crab in question that ate my Xenia, attached is a picture of it. I still have one in my tank, but the xenia is not located near the hideout of the crab, so nothing has been touched. I now also provide ample food for all the critters so this wont probably happen anymore.

I didnt manage to ID the crab yet.
Hope its of some use. :)
