Yep. The website is finally up and running. A couple words of warning though: Do NOT attempt to download this on dial-up unless you've got LOT'S of time (or going on vacation in which case it might be done by the time you get back) and don't try to get through the whole thing in one sitting. Lotsa pictures, words, amd sections. Have fun and tell me what you think. Thanks.

They deliver it bound, in leather, with a note from the Edison family thanking me for my support. Doesn't everyone's come like that? :)

Very impressive tank. Also, being that my company designs web sites and other multimedia, I take my hat off to you for a very imformative and well thought out and designed web site.

You are the man. Now I know what my dream is. For now I will revisit your site and dream of the future of my humble tank. Thanks for showing this to us. It is on my favorites list.

Michael,

Outstanding website, and terrific reef aquarium. I can tell you put a lot of effort and devotion into both; it really really shows. Huge is a very apt description ;)

I noticed you're a photographer by profession. What camera(s) did you use for your aquarium shots, and what camera(s) do you use in general? :)

Incredible!!! Amazing tank and website. It is easy to navigate and has very complete information. How many hours do you spend per week on maintenance, on average?

Leonard (And everyone else):

Thanks for the compliments. Most of the later images were made with a Canon D30 or D60 with a variety of EF lenses ranging from 14mm to 180mm macro. Some of the earlier ones were made with conventional Canon equipment (Eos 1N or 1N RS) and scanned in to a Nikon 4000ED. The VERY early ones were done with a first generation Sony Mavica and Nikon Coolpix.

As for maintenence, I'd say I personally spend about an hour a day unless I'm fragging. As the site says, I also employ the services of a LFS employee for normal weekly maintanence. He comes twice a week and normally puts in another 8-10 hours.

Damn that's a cool site. (and that's coming from someone who made them for a living).

I probably wouldn't suggest this to just anybody, but since you obviously have a web developer that knows what they're doing, you should put a live webcam in front of the tank. That would be awesome. Then you could even watch it on the internet while you were traveling, just to make sure those thirteen chillers don't all go out :) Seriously though, that would be so cool. If you did that I would buy a flat plasma TV, throw your aquarium cam up on it in my living room and sell my tank.

Great job on the tank and site.

I've just spent some time browsing this site and I have to say I think its the nicest personal reef site I've seen.

So congratulations! Although keep in mind that making a web site for an aquarium is probably the nerdiest thing a man can do...

edit---whoah- that cassowary fighting knife display is the coolest!
