I'm looking for sump designs that include a refugium as I am going to buy a bigger tank soon and this will be my first sump. I know everything is not going to be to scale, but I am curious as to what alot of you guys are using and what you think is best in the design. Thanks ahead of time.

Probably not the scale you were looking for but since nobody has replied I thought I would! :D
Do a fish room if you can!

Here is the start of mine....

Sump (Rubbermaid), and the sink on the left will be a refugium, and the sink on the right will be my mixing tank.....

Sequence 4000 seq19 return pump, my RO Unit under the sink (that isn't mounted yet)

I am going to be adding a electrical circuit that will be only for the sump also...

Don't have any baffles put in the sump yet either....

But I am working on it...... Slowly.....

Warlock, that looks great. Are you snowing me dude? :D Looks like you have been working on this for a while.
By the way, nice skimmer. I have one as well, on my 75. Works like a charm...

How big is the tank? What kind of pump are you driving the skimmer with?

Nope not snowing you, check the message archives.... I have only been builind this on and off the last month or so, mostly off.... I have been working way to much at work, and not enough at home....

I am trying though....

This is my first attempt at a full sump, refugium, setup....

I am using a Rio 2100 for the Kent TE. That is what the suggested, so that is what I amgoing to go with. I was originally goin to run that little 3/4 inch line to the skimmer. The Sequence pump is rated up to 1100 GPH, so I figured 10--20% to the refugium, and the rest to the skimmer. I got a bad feeling about the 3/4 line getting plugged, and I had oveflow visions...... So, I decided to bring the 1 1/2" line down into the sump, and I am going to use the Rio 2100 (on the way as we speak) for the skimmer.
I was also not sur how to hook up the venturi to the 3/4" line, and it is sized for the Rio.......

My tank is a 65(?) tall... 3' long, 20" wide, and 2' deep......

Thanks for the compliment also.... :D

The Venturi attachment (I believe it came with the Nautulus) will attach directly to the intake of the RIO. You will have to remove the cover. It is much more effective at churning the bubbles into a fine spray.

There will be some on here who tell you to not use the RIO. I use it because it's all I have right now, and it's what I bought with the skimmer.
A lot of people have been having trouble with the seals leaking and the pump leaching black gunk into the water when it fails. I am replacing mine in a couple of weeks (payday) just in case...
I know this isn't something you probably wanted to hear, but better to know ahead of time. See if the place you got the pump will exchange it for a different one... just FYI
Someone jumped on me about using RIO's recently and changed my mind for me.
