How to propagate corraline algae

What is the best way to increase corraline algae growth in the aquarium? I have a 75 gallon tank, with 4x55 Watt powercompacts (2 actinic, 2 10,000K) and 2x40 Watt actinic bulbs. I add Kent liquid calcium via a kent Doser 1400, and I also add 1 gallon of kalkwasser every other day. What mpre should I do, and is my lighting sufficient for most soft corals or no? Hello craig without first having the seed ect ect get a good couple of scrapings from friends , dealers tanks then with a good supply of lighting and calcium magnesium it Will grow

Different coralline algae prefer different light intensities. Most prefer moderate light(or at least that's what is most common at the LFS). You will need to find coralline that is in an LFS's tank that is close to your light intensity.

Scrape it off your glass and let the powerheads blow it around. If you don't already have any get some scraping from the LFS or a fellow reefer. It seems to spread best when it has a good flow. Once you get it started you can't get rid of it.

Thanks guys, I have some in the tank on live rock, and I seem to have good flow, so hopefully if I keep adding calcium and kalk, it shoudl get there. Thanks for the advice.

Collect what you can as seed from others or from what you already have. Put it in a blender with some tank water and pour the mix back in. Works great.

I never really had a lot of the purple stuff until the one day I decided to use a razor blade and scrape the little bit off the sides of the tank.
It's been explosive ever since.
It's a PITA now, actually.. grows on the front toooo quickly!
