My LR seems to have a few white spots... It doesn't look like the coraline died off but rather that these spots are covering the coraline. I also have a stony that is bleaching a bit. Related? Bad pic but you can kinda tell what I'm talking about. One rock seems to be affected more than another... All params were ok at last water change. Don't know now, my test kits are a bit old and ronchy... Otherwise reef doing great !

Can't be positive, but white colored coralline does exist, and may be spreading in your tank. It's far less frequently encountered then pink/red/purple (or even green) coralline.

Any chance that you've had a spike in your temperature? I had one about a month ago that caused my coraline to bleach, fortuanately it's coming back now. Not much else would cuase it unless there was something wrong with your water chemistry.

I had some white growth on some of my plastic appear recently. Looks just like the pinks, purples and greens only white. :)

I have lots of white growing in mine, but mostly on the underside of the LR.

Could you possibly have some urchins in your tank?

I agree with the other posters. Seems like white coralline growth, esp. if you have intense lighting over your reef.

Best Regards, Marco

Actually the more I think about it the two are not related, you're seeing new growth on the sps and the new piece of LR is simply adjusting to the new conditions (for it) in your tank.

Lights are less than 1 month old.... I did downgrade for 10,000K to 8800K but I doubt thats it... It's only on one rock though...

Just did some aquascaping in the tank moving some rocks around to create a differnt look and add some caves and passages.. The under side of the rock seemed to be white and the upper seemed to be more of a brownish green with purple, blue and pink coraline.. Some of the rock which was turned over seems to be a bright white with patches of purple coraline. some seems to be more of a normal color with patches of white and coraline..Beats me.. Everything seems healthy..
