I think it's around 12 inches... the two of mine are each 7 inches or so, and I think they're still growing for a while... Also, they do need space to swim, yet many places to hide.
The foxface (siganus vulpinus) can grow to Maximum 9.4 inches. The vigates up to 11.8 " (although I've never heard of anyones growing this large in a tank yet, but....?)
I have a foxface that is up for adoption. I guess mine is the schizo variety  I have so many fish with quite incredible personalities, and ever since I heard the foxface was good eating.......I just have less patience with my monster. She is about 7" I guess.
They sure look ugly in the nightime don't they. When I first saw mine at night I thought it had died and started to decompose. Wonder why the dramatic molted color change at night?
