Aerofoamer skimmers..

hey guys,have a guy delivering an Aerofoamer824 with a mag12 later today,3 months old (used it for a customer of his that decided to go eco-system with no skimming,no time for maintenance) going to use it on my 130g FOWLR (ridding myself of an old Amiracle),anyone with experiance on these?,a mail order supplier here in Canada sells them for $950can without the pump,i picked up both for $400can (about $250u.s),i assume by the price of these things they must be good,more $ then the AquaC's.....any tips is appreciated....Riot....

I own a 630 model and I think it blows my bullet2 skimmer away. I run a mag24 on mine,the 824 needs a bigger pump than a mag12 IMO maybe a mag24 also or a mak4 or equal to it.

Hi,
Aerofaomer is a great skimmer. I use an 848 model. The appropriate pump for the 824 is a Mag 24 or Iwaki 55RLT. You will really like that skimmer!

I also use an 848 on a 450 gal system with an Iwaki 100. This thing rocks the hell out of the water. I get the collection container that it came with full in about 4-5 days and I feed once to twice a day at most. 100% SPS and some fish. I bought it used as part of the set up and it is one of my most valuable pieces of equipment no question about it. The original price if buying new is hard to chew, but once you ahve it you'll never regreat it. :lol: :lol:

I run an 848 on my 500, powered by an Iwaki 100. I also flow water into it directly with a Mag 24. I like lots of flow through my skimmer

thanks guys,no erik its not a knock off,its imprinted on the bottom "aerofoamer #1622",i talked with frank at reefconcepts.com,and he told me that it is the # in which it was made, and the model,where it was shipped which was what the seller told me was confirmed by frank,he is a guy that manages SW tanks for clients and this client didnt want the work involved with a skimmer,so he setup an ecosystem without skimming, picked up a good deal,if i dont get the desired production though,i will upgrade the Mag....thanks for the tip guys....Riot....

BTW erik,he purchased it thru Dan at www.mops.on.ca
the only supplier of aerofoamers i know of,i used to own a store till sept actually (fire),and that the only place that carries them....Riot....

Instead of upgrading the pump you should sell it to me for 405$. Nice little profit for you! :wink: I know someone here who sells copies for 500$ without the pump. Being un-employed at the moment I can't really see myself paying 950 canadian plus the pump.8O 500 is another story. :wink:

yes i know of stephane as well,seen pics of his skimmers,look very similar,but happy to get to stick with the real deal....Riot.....
