I now have my Aquafuge in with a Kent Marine Biosediment bed with a little sand and rubble added from the 29's bed. 13 hermits and five Nausarius snails have been in two weeks. A Caulastrea and Frogspawn were added over the past two weeks along with a Sally Lightfoot and Emerald Crab. I am waiting for Macroalgae to come in to the LFS.

The Emerald went right to work and is quite entertaining. a snail came within 1.5" of his work zone and got batted off for being nosy. No harm done.

I was hoping someone else would respond but... aren't you afraid your hermits will hurt your pod population? I have a few and they are constantly picking at the sand. I realize you have a fuge but in a 29 I would fear anything capable of eating any pods and competing with your mandarin. Unless your fuge is really big?

As clumsy as the hermits are, I don't know if they could catch a copepod! I will make adjustments if needed though. I added two sexy shrimp who are behaving more like sexy statues at the moment. They haven't moved more than 2" from where they landed but seem Ok. I thought they may become hermit chow but they just walked on by. Now that the lights are out maybe they will check out the new digs.

Five minutes after turning out the light my emerald "munch & punch" moved to the upper rock level where I need his munching skills most. I am still surprised the sexy shrimp haven't run for cover. I guess shy and sexy don't go together.
