Never heard of one offhand, but that doesn't mean they are quality. Do you have pictures? Manufacturer web page?
Most RO units are set up the same way... they have prefilters and then the membrane, then a DI cartidge (on RO/DI). The parts may vary, but the inside components... the cartridges and the like are the same and interchangeable. If its nothing more than a membrane with line in and line out and waste line its probably still a simple RO. I would highly suggest using a DI column after it, although you can easily put in a "tap water purifier" after the RO to help with making good quality water.
You can alwys buy a 4 stage RO/DI unit and split the output from the RO (prior to the DI column) for drinking water. Most household units add some salt back into the water, so you don't want to use those. Its not terribly hard to manage.
I have just received my new RO/DI unit! I would highly recommend Air, Water and Ice, Inc. I talked to Walter the "H2O Guru" and he is Extremely helpful. I would highly recommend checking into these units... http://www.airwaterice.com/
Thanks! And thanks also to mountainbiker619 for the thread, which also had several posts which recommended this unit. Will probably go for the typhoon.
