I use Selcon daily, but it is not easy to find in the DC area. I usually have to drive about 90 minutes to find a store that carries it, and while any reason to go to another LFS is a good one there are times whenIu simply cannot.

This is one of those times. I am about to run out and wil lnot be able to make my trip to Baltimore anytime soon. What can I use as a substitute? I have a reefer friend that uses baby vitamins. I can't imagine those ouwld work, but I figured I would ask.

Any other alternatives?

Thanks,

Eddi

Ideally, one should probably alternate between selcon and zoecon. If you're having such a problem locating it, why don't you just mail order a few bottles from marine depot or something.

Zoecon is simply Kent's Zoe (a vitamin supplement) combined with HUFAs (fatty acids - selco).

Zoecon may be more available than selcon, and should be just as good. OTOH, as anthem said, you can always order online (it's usually about 60% the cost at LFS).

I feed my kids a combo of selcon and garlic soaked food about 2-3 times a week. Seems to work just fine...... Marine Depot usually has everything I need and good service...... Good Luck.

.... or you could always order Selco from a place like Brine Shrimp Direct, and then make your own.

No, selco / selcon is a good thing. Most foods are naturally low in HUFA's and selco / selcon replaces that. I'm saying I saw no benefit when I tried out that liquid vitamin.

Calvin,

thanks, I know the Marine Scene. I don't shop there very often because their prices are very high, but I have bought plenty of items there.

Thanks for the tip, though.
