Everyone trust the lfs owner.. they know all not.... reef safe could be in a matter of opinion but i tell you my reef better be REEF safe for ALL critters withing... green brittles no matter how they are looked at are destructive.. no they wont eat a coral but when they get 24" across they sure can plow them over... other than that... there are black brittles (wich hide 90% of there life under a rock or behind the rocks) and make awesome REEF safe additions.. also there are many types of serpent star that are REEF SAFE additions... if you look at the generaly consensus of the post and replys.. green brittles are not a good addition to a community tank.. but im sure if sumone would send them all the the LFS they will make a nice community tank of green brittles.. till they start eating each other... hmmm :)

Wrong mr misinformed/uninformed

Reef Safe is whether or not an animal poses a threat towards corals. And a blue linkia is not a serpent star nor a brittle star. And why don't you do some research on a blue linkia before you make stupid statements like

"I love the way they look. I will definately have one.

Why don't you do some research on the blue linkia and tell me what you are going to feed yours. Come back with an answer and I will give you a thousand dollars.

It is people like you that are ruining the hobby.
What is your problem *****. Its stupid degenerates like you that make the world a sad place to live in. You dumb junior member, know your place.
Pay up my thousand dollars you dumass. I will get one when my tank is well aged and ready to have one. They eat algea, and filterfeed you fool. I suggest you get out of the hobby now before you make a even bigger fool of yourself you newb. Nobody likes you. Now go sit in your little corner and read a book.
And for the record fool, he asked for an alternative to the brittle star so i recommended he get the linkia. He did not ask what other type of brittle to get. Learn to read you special ed reject.

Well for all that can not afford any books here is a good reference you might be able to get out of the library:

Invertebrates by Julian Sprung

page 219

Desireable/undesireable features: Reef Safe. Harmful to fishes

Does anyone have any other information they can quote from a book that says otherwise? Or do we have a bunch of people who do not know the definition of "Reef Safe"
