If you want something that you can run externally (thus you don't have to worry about fitting it inside the sump) a beckett style skimmer would be a good choice. My Reef offers these units at a great price.

If you need something to sit in the sump, Euroreef skimmers are excellent. They have a new, economy model out now. Check with our sponsors if you go this route as several of them are Euroreef dealers...

I am running a 60 hex and using a SeaClone 100. This is the newer one with the revised design. I personaly havent had any problems with it. It is easy to clean can be used in-sump or hang-on. Hope this helps.

Forgot to add that I only paid $75 for it, compared to some of the other prices on other skimmers, I dont think you can beat it for that size of a tank. Of course this is only my opinion. 8)

I like my AquaMedic Turbofloater 1000 multi because you can configure it to run inside, outside, any way you want with your sump. On a 58g it pulls a LOT of gunk out every single day. BEST skimmer I've ever owned. :D

no offense to ballpy but a seaclone would be about the worst choice you could make. bang for the buck go with an aquaC remora pro. want the best go with a becket style. if it were me i would hit the middle ground and get an aquaC ev120 that is a damn fine skimmer. I use a turboflotor1000 and the best i can say about it is it works and came free with the tank. would never pay 200 for one that's for darn sure.
