Recently added a Euro-reef ES3 to my 55gal with a 30gal sump. The 30 gal is a fuge actually, with a 6" sandbed and calpuera.

The tank is suffering from a growth of redish algae that grows over everything. I don't have exact nitrate readings, but how big of a water change should I go for to get this under control? I did a 20gal change maybe 6 weeks ago that didn't seem to help much.

I'm hoping the skimmer will help a lot as well. The carpet anenome, and few polyps and xenia look and grow great, just the algae problem.

Thanks

The best way is to keep the water quality. Sound like you did.
Add more cleaning crew like snail, hermit crabs, fish. I have a lawn mower blenny. Man, that is the best fish. Very funny to watch and good alleagy cleaner too.
