reverse lighting?

I've seen this term used,but I'm not sure what it means :? would someone

Reverse lighting is when you run the lighting on your refugium on the oppisite day/night cycle as your main tank. In other words, during the day the lights on the refugium are off, and at night, they are on. The claim is that your pH will remain more stable.
