I have decided to junk the POS Seaclone I have and go to a EuroReef or similar. I am sick of messing around and I am going to just spend what I have too to do this right.

My tanks are a 44 corner and a 20 long Refuge/sump. I plan on adding more coral soon so I will have a pretty good bio-load. First I have to battle Dinos. Uhhhg.

Attached is the way I wanna do the skimmer due to constraints of my sump which I sadly designed to work with the Seaclone. My available footprint in the sump is only 5" x 7". If you know of a stand alone skimmer that will do what I have drawn (flow in, skim, pump out) or a skimmer that ROCKS with a small enough footprint PLEASE let me know.

Thanks!

I know that the Aquamedic turboflotor multi will sit out side of the sump like that. It is also a good skimmer especially for that size system.

Wonderful! I looked at it and it seems reasonably priced.

I also just noticed the Aqua C Urchin has a 6" x 3" footprint which I could use. Anyone have experience with that one? I hear Aqua C's are very good.

Just ordered the Urchin. Can't wait so I did overnight! I need to get those protiens skimmed ASAP!

For the 155 Gallon question: there is a EV series that looks good from Aqua C. Might look at those.

I think I can use my new powerhead I got for the even bigger piece O'crap skimmer for the overflow. Call me when you get the new one hooked up tomorrow so I can come see it.

AHhh,

To bad you didn't try the AM multi. Awsome skimmer. You definitly get what you pay for.

I came close but I just found so little on it in terms of hands on experience from others. Now the Urchin has a plethora of accolades and I have heard nothing bad about it. Do you have any knowledge of the Urchin?

Ironically, I just started to get some skimmate production from it about half an hour ago (after 6 days of running) and it is really getting after it! I think I am going to like this skimmer tho it had a very slow start as that stuff is literally shooting out of the neck! Now I have to get back into the habit of emptying a skimmer cup as it's been 2 long weeks of no skimmate.
