Cross contamination can be an issue, if all the conditions in your tank are conducive to cyano to begin with... lighting doesn't affect it, and cyano loves warm temperatures. Good water circulation helps against it, water changes also.
I agree with the above, and with BangBang. Cyano is a stage that just about all tanks go thru...it can vary from mild to depressingly annoying. And it can return. Be patient! Manually remove as much as you can, and make sure your water quality is excellent.
I believe skkyy is referring to Red Slime Remover, a product that is reef safe and kills cyano. I have seen this used, it works well.
But like I mentioned, the cyano can return if conditions for it are still there.
