Im planning on getting the twin towers calcium reactor that Custom Aquatics Carries. The unit is a dual column 5" diameter, 20" height reactor, that looks solidly built, comes with all the required fittings, mag2, and power head to feed it. It only $250, but they charge shipping. I wanted to find out some more info about the reactor, I was hoping maybe there was a webpage for the company, person who constructs these units. Also does anyone have any experince with this reactor??? Thanks!

Osama I think both Geo and MyReef make excellent reactors. Unfortunately GEO has gone to a single column design and to get a large model that will hold 18lbs of media will run me in excess of $350. Myreef's come close to the twin towers, but don't hold as much. Basically if the twin towers is a good unit, that is well built and functions like the rest, then it is one of the best bangs for the buck

Entacmaea yeah you'd think they could come up with another name. It possible that the maker has his own name, and then custom aquatics just calls it the twin towers??

Twin Towers Calcium Reactor

Twin Tower Calcium Reactors are the most economical dual chamber reactor on the market. Produced by a Naval Engineer, these units are complete with a Mag Drive 2 circulating pump, a mini-jet 404 feed pump, a bubble counter, and all necessary tubing and clamps. Each 5" diameter chamber has a media capacity of 9lbs, for a toal of 18lbs required to fill the unit (media not included). Rated up to 250 gallons.

I purchased one and its very well built i think its the best for the money

you can buy them here too http://www.ereeftank.com/index.html

My reactor from My Reef Creations reactor is a custom two cylinders 6"X24 inch. cost $300 dollars. I would ask Andy to reinforce the cylinders at the water inlets & provide a support for the inlets off the base.... After that fix was made my reactor is working fine since then. Purchased May 2002

TG thanks for the picture and the reply. Custom Aquatics is cheaper by $10, just have to make sure they will still give free shipping. What are your observations about the unit, how well does it maintain the calcium levels, and do you find it needs to be adjusted often??

Thanks again!

Just make sure what acrylic they use. Sometimes some manufacturers used extruded while another uses cast.
Although it's hard to tell the difference sometimes from photos, the cast is much sturdier.
