Under tank fuge for 55g or smaller?

I am trying to come up with a design for a refugium housed in the stand underneath my tank (4' x 1'). Any help would be appreciated. If you have a refugium underneath your tank, please describe including size, design, time and money it took to build and if you have noticed any benefits.

i have a 55gal sump/fuge under my 120 gal tank the tank cost me $50 and the plexi cost me $30 for dividers. i siliconed them in place and have had no problems as of yet. it work great for my algea. i put a basic FO light on it. i use a box type overflow. and a mag 7 (i think) for a return. most of the hardware i had left over from another tank so i used it for this project.
