why not just get two skimmers? i dont think there are any hang on skimmers that will do a good job with a tank that size. perhaps an inline skimmer will be suitable? precision marine makes inline skimmers that dont require a sump

I guess you could try an Aqua C Remora Pro with Mag 3 or get a standalone as PeeJ suggested.

Don't ever truly believe the advertised size limits. If it said 120Gal, I would cut it in half, at least......................

Just look at the reaction column, hang-on skimmers are not designed for larger systems (75 Gal and over).

RapDiver,

If you don't want a sump, don't get one. I agree with Peej, get 2 skimmers. I would rcommend you place them at opposite ends of the tank, however.

About a year ago, I put a Remora in my 30 gallon. I was already running a BakPak and just wanted to see what would happen. Well, they both pulled junk out. The Remora pulled out more watery junk, while the BakPak's out was much more concentrated nasty stuff.

My bio load in the 30 was modest, a cleaner shrimp, snails, hermits, a clown, etc. That would be my only caution to you: Watch the amount of the bioload in tank.

My $.02.

IMO you are going to have a hell of a time with HO skimmers, but a couple three Remora PRO's would likely do the job but still aren't really gonna compare to a good quality skimmer such as a Precision Marine Bullet 1 or 2. You may want to make a small shelf next and above the tank and put the skimmer there piped to flow back in. A PM Bullet 1 running on say a Mag 12 submersed would likely work fine.

I agree with the suggestion of using a skimmer at each end of the tank however I would just start with one and just keep watching my water parameters. What do you plan on keeping in your tank?
