Obvious ones are The Marine Center and LiveAquaria.Com.

Any others I should be looking at? I've bought several difficult to find fish lately, and would like some more...

Thanks in advance.

Peace,

Chip

You'd be better off at marine center, then attempting a purchase at marineaquatics.us. They (marine center) truly know they're rare fish. BTW, what are you looking for?

I checked out marineaquatics.us, and the site looks great (raccoon bflys for 24 bucks!!!!), but what are the shipping rates. Surely it's not free???

8O If I was in the market for rare fish I don't think I would buy just for price. If the fish is cheap, then its care & maintenance have most likely been cheapened too. Come on guys, nobody is in business to give anything away. I have often found I have gotten what I paid for. Just cause somebody charges a high price doesn't mean you are getting a winner either. I usually look at the fact if a fish is eating and if it is taken care of. Look on some of the sites for info if you are going to mail order. Nobody I know of ships for free. That 24 $ raccoon will cost a hell of alot more than that when you tie in the box charge, shipping, and freezer or heat packs. You get to buy all that stuff too. Happy Hunting.

I'm just looking for selection...not really sure what I want yet, but am trying to find different options It's only 2 more fish, but I want to make certain they're pretty incredible fish.

I'm leaning toward a rhomboid fairy wrasse as one of them, but am not sure if he'll get along with the labouti fairy wrasse I have.

Looks like Marine Center has the best selction, anyway.

Peace,

Chip

I would suggest calling up Randy at Marine Center and then Tom at Marine Aquatics and seeing who is easier to talk to. I've known Tom for a long time and he is a hobbyist first and businessman second. Also if you're looking for some really rare fish like a rhomboid fairy wrasse, you'll prolly just have to see who can get it for you. Tom IMO is better at tracking unusuals but as far as the Rhomboid, don't hold your breath because they are very far and few between. I have never seen one myself. Also don't correlate the number of pics/fish on the respective sites with selection or availability. The Marine Center is notorious for listing fish they don't have in stock. I have personally tried to call him about a handful of fish and its always "just sold."

I've dealt with both Angela and Randy at The Marine Center when I was searching for my titan triggerfish. They were both extremely helpful, and I was very pleased with their service.

I realize what they have pictured is not what's in stock, however I'm patient enough to wait for a rhomboid or whatever I end up desiring.

Plus, I think I'm moving in two months (I'm buying a house), and will wait until my reef is settled in after the move before I buy.

Peace,

Chip
