Hi,

I'm setting up an 8 Gallon aquarium and am trying to decide between a 48W JBJ desktop Formosa, and a 64W CSL ABS Hood. The CSL is about 40$ more expensive. I'd like to keep an open top, so that is the main reason I lean towards JBJ right now, because of their leg stands. Do you think i could buy their or coralifes leg stands, and retrofit them to fit the CSL hood? I also hear that CSL is much more reliable than JBJ.... Any reccomendations would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Isnt the jbj a LOT longer than a 8g tank? I was looking at the formosa, but ended up getting the 18w clamp on due to simplicity

If you have the bones, go with the CSL... I have seen alot of people buy the JBJ because of the style and such, then return them because a fan goes out or a ballast goes. or just bad bulbs.....

the CSL is great product, backed by a powerfull company who is easy to get a hold of and holds true to their warranties.

I have owned a JBJ and will never own another.. CSL, Hamilton, and PFO are my joice from now on....

JBJ sucks. Had a really bad experiece getting the hood to fit on a 20 gal. The leg stands they issue are crap, the installation never feels solid. A cat could nock your whole hood into the tank with a setup like that. Drop the extra 40 and get something solid like CSL.
