Will the sand be ok if I keep water just over the sand in the tank when I move it and put the corals in tubs with the tank water. They will be in there for about 4 hours.
just take caution moving your tank with anything in it. water weights 8.5 pounds per gallon. and then how many pounds of sand do you have in the aquarium? keep this in mind while you are moving it. it's very easy to destroy an aquarium when lifting it if anythign is inside ... take care not to bend or twist the aquarium shape - this can put shearing stresses on the silicone seals, weakening them greatly.
that said ... i have done it (with FW aquariums) before. largest i moved was a 55g ... out to a care, took a drive, up 4 flights o' stairs, then inside. it was tough.
be sure you have at least one other person to help you lift it.
Yah, what Hwarang said But to answer your qeustions, yes, live sand kept wet for 4 hours will survive your move. Good luck! I know what a logistical nightmare it can be
