If you had a 7 tier breeding system using 20L tanks and plenty of light what would you try to aquaculture?

Alright somewhat more reasonable. Although that would be pretty cool. I'm thinking clowns(gold stripe maroons, perc's), seahorses, or some type of pseudochromis(sunrise, magenta). Maybe even some coral propagation, but that's a little more tricky. Any advice?

Heh, I probably should have mentioned I work with jelly aquaculture at the lab.

"Maybe even some coral propagation, but that's a little more tricky. "

Could have fooled me.

Plenty of Light? Get some good turnover and flow, behemoth skimming, live rock, and a good reactor and you're set. You can DIY the skimmer and reactor from PVC pretty easily and for not much cash.

I'll have a nice(free) submersible pump(little giant pond pump) so turnover is no problem. Lights aren't much, but they were cheap 6 double bulb (4' 2x40watt flourescents) all weather fixtures with hoods at Home Depot for 20 clams a piece. I'll have roughly 11 tanks over a 20' long wall space in the basement. Basically 10 20L with overflows falling into each other, with a undrilled 20L as a sump. Although I am thinking of making the sump a 40. I am lacking a skimmer, but they are not hard to get and find. I don't know if I would trust my own craftmanship on a skimmer.

Comments? Improvements? some tips?

PVC is like working with kids construction toys, with some "fragrant" glue/primer involved. This skimmer is made entirely out of commonly available (Home Despot) parts: http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/showt ... adid=16504
