I just started using the 12k bulbs...so I have no personnal background on them. Here is a pic of dual 12k bulbs only. The pic does not reflect the actual way it looks.

Thank ya Jason...only thing I have left on that aquarium is to figure out how to bring the water temp down from 85 degrees while the lights are on. I have 3 computer fans mounted inside the canopy directing the heat out..but it does not suffice. Thanks goodness I live 2 miles from the ocean or I would be in a heap of trouble.

I'm less then a mile from the ocean and I still have to run a chiller! :wink: :?

ok..a lessons learned from me...you will need to purchase a Ice Cap timer for each ballast. http://www.marinedepot.com/a_lt_fl_icec ... sp?CartId=

I would also suggest you go to home depot at get some of this cable to run from the ballast to the timer, and the timer to the wall socket.

How come you need to get a Digital Timer for each ballast?

the ballast comes with only 6 bare wires coming out of it...3 go to the socket..the other 3 go to the power source...it does not come with a wall plug or anything. Here is what you will get

Oh, you can get wall plugs from Radio shack. Then just use regular timers. In the past I have also bought cheap 3' extension cords and cut one side off and spliced the wires together. Those digital timers are expensive!

they are only like 48 dollars each...fairly cheap considering the price of the rest of the equipment..lol
