Which will keep undesireable algae more in check?

Which is more prone to disease?

Which is more hardy?

Which is a better suited tankmate for a Copperband butterfly?

Thanks,
Jon

Experiences will vary as to which one is the better grazer. For me, the foxface is pretty much a freeloader! My yellow tang (as well as all the others I've kept in other tanks) is a tremendous grazer.
I should say though that I have much experience with yellow tangs, and comparitively little with the foxface. The foxface is shy, and they take a while to warm up to things and act normaly. For now though, he hangs out and waits until I feed the tank for the most part.
As far as hardiness goes, no worries either way. In the end, the foxface would be the hardier fish as far as disease resistance goes. Like I said though, it really isn't an issue with the yellow tang either. Just make sure you quarantine.
The foxface is also much less aggressive than the yellow tang, so from that standpoint, he might be a better tankmate for a copperband.

Cheers
Jim

Foxface may be the best overall saltwater aquarium fish of all. They are hardy and peaceful. They eat anything, but I make sure mine gets a very wide variety of foods including several plant based foods. I have had mine for 10 years now and it is my second one. Mine took care of a bubble algae problem years ago and it has not come back. I don't think a tang will control bubble algae other than possibly a Red Sea Sailfin tang.

Thats what i was thinking too.... but I think it would depend on the tang. Only worries with the Foxface are that some say it will outgrow the 100 gal too fast.

Never had a yellow tang, I do have another Zebrasoma though, and I must say my foxface is an algae eating machine!! He is tough as nails too. I occasionally move him from tank to tank to keep my caulerpa infestation under control, and it doesn't faze him a bit to be moved about. He sure does mow through caulerpa and hair algae!!
