My grape Caulapera crashed for a second time in my refugium. I woke up to a clouded tank. I ran some carbon, removed the Caulapera, and performed a water change. (Nothing else was affected.) I do most of the items I have read about to prevent this but this is the second time. I run lights 24/7, prune regularly, and dose iron. It grows like crazy and I believe it helped eliminate my hair algae. I would now like to try some chaetomorpha. I am having trouble finding this algae. Does anyone have some suggestions on where to find chaetomorpha? (All I have seen in searches is people trading it.) Thanks.

I'm also unaware of anyone selling Chaetomorpha. I'll keep an eye out for you (I'm interested in trying some out myself).

Have you tried Caulerpa sertularioides, or are all species "bad" in your system? I find this species undergoes sexual reproduction less often then other Caulerpas, but experiences differ from system to system. Gracilaria species is another possible refugium algae I recommend, and good tang food too :) FWIW, my Hamileda grows like weeds and never goes sexual unless they get too huge. But I know Hamileda isn't in favor since they compete with corals for calcium.

Thank you Stuart. I ordered some today off Ebay. Righty, thanks for the offer. I went ahead and ordered some today. I had to remove all the dead caulerpa for my refugium and I wanted to replace it as quickly as possible.
