I have an Atlantic Blue Tang that has started to show signs of HLLE. I did a search to get some info on causes. Besides diet and water quality are there any products that target this disease?
What have other reefers done to successfully rid fish of HLLE?
TIA for any help.

Hi...many numbers. Welcome to reefs.org, let's see if I can help get you pointed in the right direction.

Diet seems to be the most persistent factor in this disorder. I'm going to link you to our library, and to another site for more information. To the best of my knowledge, there aren't any antibiotics or other medications that are "proven" to cure this problem, besides nutritional supplements anyway.

Thank you, Sea Maiden, for the links. It seems most information stress dietary needs. This will be the main direction I head in the battle to heal this Tang.

You are very welcome, many numbers. Hopefully Selcon soaked noori and (even though Bob's not suggesting it, it's good for their psyche, and the LBAOP uses it) free feeding romaine should help. One note on the romaine, if he takes that in lieu of the noori, remove it til he eats the noori, then you can put it back.

Also, someone mentioned a "recipe" given them by EmilyB, where they wrap mysis (IIRC) in noori, kinda like a sushi wrap.

Good luck!

Hhmmmm...well, alright. I thought I'd seen it both ways, but I just HATE to misspell, so I'd rather be corrected than go along looking stoopid. :D

Thanks!

About 1 yr ago my lfs gave me a tube of ecosystem garlic elixer
when a recent purchased tang showed head pitting and discoloration
w/in 2 weeks.He said if I doesen't work don't pay me,and w/in 2 weeks
it was close to completely gone and I paid him the 20$ bucks for the tube.
I put a drop in every feeding. It could actually be added to your water
if you like.I even like it on my roast chicken!Just kidding.I believe it's magical, but their breath is terrible!
