I love to talk to people who are from other countries. Everyone thinks I am a dick but not really. Every year I open my door to high school exchange students. I have had Saudis,Germans and Hungarians. It is a great experiance.

Seriosuly- I NEED to see some pics of that guy's equipment room!

Personally I just took a new job, moved 400 miles (about 600 km) away and now I make about 1/3rd what I used to make so keeping up my 180g tank is going to be quite a challenge on a tight budget.

In this new job I don't have to travel anymore, so I get to see my wife and kids every evening.

In Israel, America is Reef heaven, it's considered the cheapest place in the world for Reef shopping and many ppl mail order from American shops
The reason is cause Israel is so expensive due to 18%VAT and tax between 12 to 45%depends on the item.

So ya can just try to imagine how much this guy payed for this tank.

VAT is 18% on sales.

The other taxes I mentioned are import taxes which comes on top of the freight and are different on different items.

Definitely deep pockets, that's for sure. I've had some pretty loaded friends in my time too, maybe a few could have done something like this if they wanted, but man...... - Think about the ongoing costs of something that!

Astronomical.

I can hardly see how some public aquariums stay in business, let alone something like that where it's not generating any revenue for itself.

Then again, none of my friends were on Hearst-like levels either.. Just lower to middle-uppers.
