Hey,
I'm setting up a 75 gallon reef. I am looking at some skimmers. I want it to be lower than 150 dollars. My choices are the scum sucker, amiracle venturi hurricane, and a CPR backpack reef ready. I don't think the CPR will be big enough for this use. I don't know about the other choices though. Thanks you.

Are you looking for a hang-on skimmer or do you have a sump?
What are you going to keep in the tank?
What are you going to use for other forms of filtration (ie. live rock, live sand, vegetable refugium, etc.)?

Im kind of looking for the same thing. Have quite a few corals, and 2 clowns, yellow tang, puffer... I made this one, but I don't think it's doing the job. It works good, but could be better.

Spend the extra $14 over your limit and get the Aqua C Remora or the Urchin with the Maxi-Jet pump. You might even find it for under $150 with some intense web searching.

Best bang for the buck IHMO.

Good luck.
