I'm looking to buy a RO/DI in the next month or so and don't know which one to get. I don't need one of the 200 gpd ones or anything like that, but I also don't want to skimp on the quality of it either. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Every RO/DI brand is pretty much the same quality. So get the cheapest one you can find. I would at least get a 4 stage system. How big is your tank? By know this we can guess better which "gallons per day" model is the best for your usage.

I have a 100gpd 4 stage Oceanus from Aquatic Reef Systems, and I really like it. ChaoticReefer brings up a great point about gpd. If you get a 25gpd unit, under the best conditions you are going to get a little over 1 gallon of the good stuff per hour...if you have a big tank, you're going to be waiting a loooong time. :D

Good luck!

Ditoo ChrisPrusha on the 4-stage Oceanus. I have one as well and love it. The company's customer service is also excellent.

I currently have a 90 gallon tank and plan on setting up a 55 for an octo in the next couple months. I was looking at something in the 50-60 gpd range, would this be sufficient for a larger tank? I'm hoping to upgrade to a larger tank in the next couple years.

Essentially, buy the biggest one you can afford. It will make a given volume of product water faster - e.g., whereas a 100 gpd unit will make 50 gallons of water in ~12 hrs, it will take ~24hrs for the 50 gpd unit to do the same work.

This fact isn't fully appreciated until your tank crashes and you happen to have no product water available.
