I have a branching hammer that is losing its color. The tips are not bright green anymore. The brown is a light brown now.

I have it under a 250W HQI MH and 2 95 W VHO Actinics. Even with just the actinics on it barely "glows" anymore.

Any ideas? Probably move it lower. If that is the asnwer how should I go about doing this. A few inches a night or move it to its final destination in one move. The other problem might be is that it is the host of one of my clowns.

Clown won't harm it. It is called "browning," and most likely reason is due to insufficient light... but it sounds like it should be bright enough for this easy-to-care-for LPS... how far is it from the MH?

rob_reef_keeper,

8O look out for juan.

maybe to much light. go to LFS, books, or internet and look up how deep (or shallow they are) to get an idea where to put it in the tank.

IF YOU MOVE IT THE CLOWN WILL FOLLOW!

GOOD LUCK,

I would think the clown would be irritating it. I had clowns host in a huge leather and the leather finally stopped opening. Once I removed the clowns the leather opened again....coincidence?

I was given a bleached frag last year that was under 250 w of MH. It was almost transparent. Now it's doubled in size and coloured right back up.

IMO it's probably either too much light or too warm temp.

I've had a few Euphyllia sp. bleach with warm temps 82+.
