400W HQI bulbs

Do they sell 400W HQI bulbs? I see advertised 400W HQI ballasts but no bulbs. I am interested in knowing if they are available, where can I get them from & benefits or disadvantages over 400W MH non HQI... Any thoughts are appreciated

The HQI ballasts are for the mogul-based Radiums and other German bulbs which need that ballast to fire reliably and properly.

There are no 400W double ended bulbs that I'm aware of. "HQI" is really a amrketing term and not meant as a pure descriptive of double-ended bulbs.

Supposedly 400W DEs are being designed None is available at the time.

Most 400W ballasts sold as "HQI" are just pulse-start ballasts.

Yeah, I've heard they make 70w DE's, it's just I've never seen one. Len, A 400w DE would put out some serious rays!

I have a 70w DE Ushio 10k. I am attempting to make a retrofit for it, as the 250w SE was too much. I had algae and major heat issues. When we move into our new place, I'll use the 250 on the cube we wanna get.
